Life Camp

Urban Alliance is hosting two Life Camp events to help provide area youth with tools and resources to step outside the cycles of gun violence within Kalamazoo.

Life Camp is a two-day event coordinated by Urban Alliance and community partners to encourage and support local youth in advocating for human dignity rather than participating in destructive behaviors that lead to gun violence.

 

 

Life Camp Community Celebration

and Advocacy Contest

Join us for an evening of celebration with family, friends, and community partners. All ages are welcome, and food will be provided.

The first annual Advocacy Competition is open to middle school students and will include six events, with awards being given to the top three contestants in each category. Each award winner will receive $100-125 for their courage, creativity, confidence, and expression of advocacy for life.

Life Camp at Sherman Lake

SATURDAY, JUNE 15th

8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Our goal is to re-educate middle school-aged youth about gun usage and protect them from the serious consequences that result from pulling the trigger to harm someone.

Camp activities include:

A total of 18 participants will each be awarded $100 for demonstrating outstanding leadership!

*Transportation will only be provided on Saturday for those who registered for Sherman Lake. Urban Alliance will provide transportation from Urban Alliance to Sherman Lake and back to Urban Alliance. All campers must arrive at Urban Alliance at 8:30am on Saturday and pick up between 5:30-5:45 pm. at the same location.
